Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is thrilled to announce that registration is now open for the 2027 Leadership Institute & Founders Day Celebration, taking place October 27–31, 2027, at the beautiful Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas.
This immersive leadership experience is powered by the Sigma Flame Institute and is designed to strengthen how we lead, serve, and show up across our communities, industries, and the world. From inspiring leadership development and a featured keynote address to opportunities for service and a weekend of celebration as we count down to RHOvember, this experience brings the Sigma Family together to learn, grow, and celebrate.
As part of your registration, you'll also receive complimentary registration to the Virtual Leadership Institute (VLI), powered by the Sigma Flame Institute, a one-day virtual leadership development experience taking place during Summer 2027. The VLI will feature multiple learning tracks designed for Undergraduate Members, Graduate Members, Rhoers, and Philos, preparing participants for the in-person Leadership Institute experience in Nassau. Standalone registration for the VLI will open in February 2027.
A special highlight of the weekend will be the official kickoff of the Western Region's 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee. Join us as we celebrate the MIGHTY Western Region's remarkable legacy while enjoying the beauty, culture, and hospitality of The Bahamas.

Who can attend the Leadership Institute & Founders Day Celebration?
The Leadership Institute & Founders Day Celebration is open to the entire Sigma Family, including Undergraduate Members, Graduate Members, Rhoers, Philos, and their invited guests.
Guests, including spouses, partners, family members, and friends, are welcome to attend; however, every attendee must complete their own registration and pay the applicable registration fee.
There is one registration process for everyone. Separate guest registrations, guest passes, or à la carte event tickets will not be available.

Registration does not include hotel accommodations, airfare, airport transportation, travel insurance, meals not specifically included within the program, or personal expenses.
What is the event capacity?
Current planning for the 2027 Leadership Institute & Founders Day Celebration anticipates approximately 700 in-person attendees.
We are grateful for the incredible response from the Sigma Family. Due to the tremendous interest in this experience, Sigma Gamma Rho has expanded registration to welcome additional participants. As of August 1, 2026, registration has reached more than 85% of our current planned in-person capacity.
We strongly encourage members and guests planning to join us in Nassau to complete their registration early while registration remains available.
Event capacity will continue to be evaluated throughout the planning process.
Can I join a waitlist if registration is full?
Yes. If registration reaches available event capacity, registration will close, and an official waitlist will be established.
Should additional registration opportunities become available, Sigma Gamma Rho may invite individuals from the official waitlist to register.
How much does registration cost?
Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can I cancel my registration and receive a refund?
No. All registration fees and installment payments are final, irrevocable, and non-refundable.
This policy applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including, but not limited to:
Changes in personal or work schedules
Illness or medical emergencies
Family emergencies or bereavement
Flight cancellations or travel delays
Passport, visa, or other travel documentation issues
Denied entry into The Bahamas
Natural disasters or weather-related travel disruptions
Financial hardship
Military or employment obligations
Any other unforeseen circumstances that prevent attendance
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your paid registration to another eligible individual through June 30, 2027, subject to the published transfer policy and the applicable $150 transfer fee.
Do I need to purchase travel insurance?
Travel insurance is strongly recommended to help protect your travel plans.
Because registration fees are non-refundable, participants are encouraged to purchase travel insurance at the time of registration or shortly thereafter.
Is there a payment plan?
Yes. Flexible installment payment plans are available through WeTravel. Registration balances must be paid in full by December 31, 2026.
You may make additional payments or pay your balance early at any time.
How do I manage my registration after booking?
Your WeTravel Traveler Portal is your central location for managing your registration.
After registering, you can:

Can I update my registration information?
Yes. You may update your participant information through your WeTravel Traveler Portal before published deadlines. To make updates, navigate to:

What if I entered the wrong birth year or passport expiration date?
Simply log in to your WeTravel Traveler Portal and update your participant information.

Return to your WeTravel Traveler Portal to update your payment method and complete your payment.

What are Participant Tasks?
Leading up to the event, Sigma Gamma Rho may assign Participant Tasks through your WeTravel Traveler Portal.

When can I reserve my hotel?
The official Grand Hyatt Baha Mar booking link will be released on November 1, 2026. To receive the negotiated group rate, please wait until the official booking link is released.
What airport should I fly into?
Please plan to fly into Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS)
When should I plan to arrive and depart?
The official arrival day is Thursday, October 28, 2027. Guests traveling from the West Coast, internationally, or other long-haul destinations are encouraged to arrive on Wednesday, October 27, to allow time to settle in before programming begins.
The official departure day is Sunday, October 31, 2027.
What is the Virtual Leadership Institute (VLI)?
The Virtual Leadership Institute (VLI), powered by the Sigma Flame Institute, is a one-day, multi-track leadership development experience taking place during Summer 2027. Registration for the Leadership Institute & Founders Day Celebration includes complimentary registration.
Individuals unable to attend the Bahamas experience will have the opportunity to register separately when standalone registration opens in February 2027.
