1) Interested parties must submit an application on the national website at sgrho1922.org. (The submission to ICHQ should be AFTER providing the 5yr plan to your Regional Syntaktes.)
2) The application is located Under the "SORORS Only" tab, go to the Chapter Resources, and select "Chapter Charter" and scroll to the bottom and select "Next" to navigate to the Chapter Charter Application.
3) ICHQ will send a "Chapter Charter Approval Request" to receive written approval from the Regional Syntaktes.
4) If approved, the party will need to provide the following documentation to Madam First Grand for approval.
Alumnae chapter:
- Letter of intent
- 5-year strategic plan
- At least 10 qualifying women (at least 50% must have a bachelor's degree)
- Description of proposed charter area
- Documentation demonstrating that the proposed charter city (based on city center) or, if less than 30 miles, that the nearest chapter is in another state, or region.
Undergraduate chapter:
- Letter of intent
- 5-year strategic plan
- At least 5 qualifying women (must have current enrollment at the university where the charter is being established).
Eligibility: To meet the eligibility requirements of chartering an undergraduate or alumnae chapter, all proposed charter members must be financial for the sorority year in which the charter request is being submitted (and meet all TORCH requirement if applicable).
5) Chapter pays chapter dues.
6) Grand Grammateus will provide charter name and charter document to chapter.
***Affiliate chapters needing a NEW chapter profile will need to go through the Regional Affiliate Coordinator for approval before submitting a ticket requesting the creation of an Affiliate Chapter profile. Affiliate Chapters will pay chapter fees (just like the Alumnae/UG) after approved in order to be in compliance and participate in intake activities.
